BlueWater NearWest FiestaJuly 13, 2015
BlueWater Chamber Orchestra is an Artist-In-Residence at The Breen Center for the Performing Arts. Over the past few years, members of BlueWater have held an all-school concert for students, staff and faculty, as well as joined classes to teach the art of music to the students.
On July 25, 2015 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., Blue Water Chamber Orchestra will host an outdoor festival called the BlueWater NearWest Fiesta. The festival will be held on Kyle Field at Saint Ignatius High School. This is a free event that offers the community the chance to spend a day with the arts. The Oblivion Project, a well-known tango band will play, as well as other artistic groups from the Near West community. These include students from the Arrupe Neighborhood Partnership and The Music Settlement, and dancers and musicians from Julia de Burgos Cultural Arts Center.
This event will occur in conjunction with West Side Catholic Center’s Sips and Swigs event held in the same location on July 25. Tickets for Sips and Swigs can be found at www.wsccenter.org/sipsandswigs.
