Jenkins ’16 Will Have Another Accolade

Liam Jenkins ’16 tallied an impressive number of art awards during his senior year at Saint Ignatius, including several National Gold Key honors from the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. He traveled to Columbus and New York City’s Carnegie Hall during the spring as part of art showcases featuring promising young artists.

Now, one of Jenkins’ works, titled “Have Another?”, was selected as one of 65 pieces to be displayed in the U.S. Department of Education’s main building in Washington, D.C., as part of the ART.WRITE.NOW.DC exhibit.

A celebratory ribbon-cutting will take place on September 16 at the The Lyndon Baines Johnson Department of Education Building in the nation’s capital.

National Gold Key winners are named by “panels of creative professionals as the most talented young artists and writers in the nation.”

Jenkins also designed the Christmas themed banners that are hung on the Mall during winter. He graduated from Saint Ignatius in May and is beginning college this fall at the Cleveland Institute of Art.
