Fr. Greg Boyle, S.J. to Speak at WUJA at John Carroll University

On February 2, Rev. Greg Boyle, S.J. traveled with two of his homies to speak to our students, faculty and staff at Saint Ignatius High School. Fr. Boyle, S.J., is the founder of Homeboy Industries in Los Angeles, the largest gang intervention, rehabilitation and re-entry program in the world.

Today, Homeboy Industries employs and trains former gang members in a range of social enterprises, as well as provides critical services to 15,000 men and women who walk through its doors every year seeking a better life.

When he addressed our students, he shared stories of the triumphs and struggles he experienced through his process of encountering gang members where they are. He reminded our students that they are, “more than your worst mistake.”

Fr. Boyle, S.J. will be a guest speaker at the World Union of Jesuit Alumni Congress (WUJA), in addition to Rev. Timothy Kesicki, S.J. former president of Saint Ignatius High School and current president of the Jesuit Conference of Canada and the United States.

From June 28-July 2, 2017, WUJA will meet for the first time ever in North America, at John Carroll University, in Cleveland, Ohio. REGISTER NOW
