Students Travel the World to ServeJuly 18, 2017
For the second consecutive year, a team of students and chaperones from Saint Ignatius headed to Tanzania through the Fr. Thomas Gafney, S.J. ’50 Summer Mission Trip Program. The group left on July 7th for the three-week trip and will be posting periodic updates on our mission trip blog. Visit sihsclevelandmissiontrips.wordpress.com to read more.
Bill Kelley ’62 and Fr. Ray Guiao, S.J. ’82 just returned from leading a group of students through Nicaragua as part of a summer mission trip. Thank you to International Partners in Mission for helping coordinate this incredible immersion experience! The group had the chance to meet with and serve at local non-profits, visit historical landmarks including the Santa Maria de León Cathedral and learn about different movements in the country.
Other summer mission trips included travels to the Dominican Republic, Louisville and West Virginia. Next week, the newly revived Cleveland Mission Trip will commence. To learn more about the Fr. Gafney, S.J. ’50 Student Mission Program, visit www.ignatius.edu/MissionTripHome.
